Elite Sports Mind Coaching for Teen Athletes

"Every young athlete has untapped potential. But potential means nothing if the mind keeps getting in the way."

Unlock Your Teen Athlete's
Natural Performance

Every young athlete processes pressure differently. Since 2017, I've discovered one critical truth with teen competitors: A young athlete's relationship with performance pressure often determines their success more than any physical skill or technical ability.

Understanding Your Teen's Experience

If you're reading this, your teen athlete has likely experienced the frustration of inconsistent performance despite strong technical abilities. Perhaps they perform brilliantly in practice but struggle to maintain that same freedom in competition. Maybe they've recently experienced setbacks that have shaken their confidence in crucial moments. Or perhaps you simply sense that something is missing in their mental approach, but traditional coaching hasn't addressed it.

These challenges often arise not from lack of effort or ability, but from a fundamental misunderstanding of how young minds process competitive pressure. The more driven your teen is, the more their analytical mind can create invisible obstacles. Their desire to succeed paradoxically becomes the very thing holding them back.

"The secret isn't about controlling your teen's mind – it's about helping them understand the relationship between their conscious thinking and natural performance abilities"

The Performance Breakthrough Your Teen Athlete Needs

What I do?

I help teen athletes breakthrough the invisible mental barriers that block their true potential.

The Problem Many Teen Athletes Face

The more talented and driven they are, the more likely their analytical mind creates invisible obstacles. Their desire to succeed becomes the thing holding them back.

Common Challenges

  • Performance anxiety during important competitions

  • Struggling to maintain confidence after setbacks

  • Overthinking technique during crucial moments

  • Balancing school pressure with sports demands

How I Help Teen Athletes

I use a developmentally-appropriate combination of sports psychology and guided visualization to:

  • Reconnect teens with their natural abilities

  • Transform their relationship with pressure

  • Build sustainable mental skills that extend beyond sports

  • Develop resilience in the face of challenges

Working with Your Teen in Their Environment

After an initial in-person consultation (where possible), sessions are conducted via secure video conferencing, creating flexibility for busy academic and training schedules while allowing athletes to learn in comfortable environments.

My son was recently selected to play juvenile badminton for Ireland and we found that his sessions with Rob were one of the main reasons he achieved his goal. The sessions helped my son control his emotions in high pressure situations so that he could play to his true ability in the important matches. We would recommend Rob to any juvenile sports person looking for help with the mental side of sport.
